It appears that after 47 years of bloody rule, and in the wake of countless uprisings and the sacrifices of the people, the Islamic Republic is approaching the end of the line. Perhaps this military attack will prove to be the final straw that breaks the back of this regime and clears the path for the people to bring it down.
Alongside the suffering and bloodied people of Iran, I welcome the elimination of the highest and most hated political and military figures of this criminal regime as a result of these attacks, and I hope that the Islamic government collapses as soon as possible.
Iranian society is not silent or subdued. It is restless, defiant and revolutionary. Any weakening or collapse of the regime could mark the beginning of a nationwide uprising — even an armed one — aimed at its decisive and fundamental overthrow. The disintegration of the Islamic Republic’s repressive forces would be among the first outcomes of a powerful popular movement.
Let us prepare ourselves for such a prospect and move in that direction. Let us strive with all our strength to ensure that the fall of the Islamic regime goes hand in hand with the organisation of the people into their own local and nationwide bodies of power — institutions that safeguard the achievements of the revolution and lay the foundations of future popular rule.
Down with the Islamic regime!
