Families of arrested steelworkers in Iran protest again as authorities fail to release the workers

On 25^th December 2018, the families of the arrested steelworkers of the National Steel Group of Ahvaz in Khuzestan, Iran, held their second protest in front of the provincial governor’s office and the judiciary building in the city.

The protesters demanded the release of their family members and a response from the authorities who had promised to free the workers. The steelworkers have been in custody for 10 days.

Workers of the National Steel Group of Ahvaz demand the immediate and unconditional release of their colleagues and insist on their other demands such as payment of their unpaid wages, the restarting of production lines, job security, and the right to organise and to strike.
