On 21st December 2018, workers of Tabriz Machinery Manufacturing Company in Azerbaijan province, Iran, went on strike over unpaid wages.
The workers who have not been paid 6 months of their wages were left with no option but to go on strike as negotiations with the employers failed.
The workers worry about their future as production has fallen by 70% and some production lines have been closed.
In the past few years as many as 200,000 machinery manufacturing workers have lost their jobs in Iran.
