Municipality in Marivan forced to pay unpaid wages of its workers

On 28th January 2019, municipality workers in Marivan in Kurdistan province, Iran, managed to get some of their unpaid wages following several days of strike and protest by the workers.

The municipality paid some of the unpaid wages and promised to pay the rest in 20 days.

The workers who hadn’t been paid 18 months of their wages in the past 2 years have been holding protests in front of the municipality building.

The workers say that if the authorities fail to pay on time they will resume their strike and protest.
