On 23rd December 2018, workers of Noshahr Power Station (electricity) in Mazandaran province, Iran, held an assembly to protest over the non-payment of their wages.
The workers, who haven’t been paid for several months, are facing serious financial issues as the employer refuses to pay their wages.
Non-payment of wages has pushed many workers in different industries in Iran into poverty. Many workers have been left with no option but to go on strike and to protest as employers either do not negotiate, don’t respond to the workers or use the excuse that there is no money.
