On 27th November 2018, a large group of municipality workers of Abadan city in Khuzestan province, Iran, held an assembly in front of the municipality office over delay in the payment of their wages.
Over 2000 workers of the municipality and its contractors suffer from non-payment of their wages and they have been disappointed by the employers who keep delaying paying them their wages.
The employers tried to silence the workers by giving them a small amount of money but in the assembly the workers demanded payment of all of their unpaid wages.
Non-payment of wages in Iran have forced many workers and their families into destitution.
