On 2nd February 2019, a group of teachers and staff of the Ministry of Education in Karun and Bavi in Khuzestan province, Iran, held an assembly to protest against non-payment of their allowances.
The teachers and the staff gathered in front of the Ministry of Education in Ahvaz and demanded their allowances for “war affected areas”.
The wages of the teachers and the staff are way below the poverty line and they struggle to make ends meet.
