Truck drivers’ strike shuts down all terminals in Iran

Today, 3rd October 2018, on the tenth day of the truck drivers’ strike, all terminals in Iran are closed as the strike expands to 270 cities.

The drivers are marching in the streets, mobilising society and demanding the immediate release of their workmates. So far 150 drivers have been arrested.

Different sectors of workers in Iran have released statements in support of the striking workers. Teachers, workers, students, and merchants along other members of the public have supported the strike and the workers.

Online petitions are being circulated and have been signed by thousands. The International Transport Workers’ Federation which has over 20 million members has supported the truck drivers’ strike in Iran.
