Petrochemical workers strike to protest low wages in Iran

On 15 September, 2018, petrochemical workers of Bandar Imam in South Iran went on strike to protest low wages and economical pressure on workers.

Director of Human Resources of the corporation attended the workers’ assembly and promised to pursue the workers’ demands. The striking workers agreed to return to work for now.

The workers struggle to pay for their most basic needs with the low wages, and low price of Iranian currency as well as unprecedented rise in price of goods has put the workers in a very difficult situation.
